1Z Newsletter 10/25
Happy Friday 1Z Families! We had a great week with some special activities - be sure to ask your first grader all about them! We also finished our first unit in Reading Workshop and celebrated our growth as readers and all the good habits we've been building since the start of the school year :)
3 Things We Talked About:
1) Reading partners grow ideas together by thinking together, wondering out loud and asking questions
2) Filling in shapes with different shapes
3) 2 types of communities that we are members of - classrooms and families.
2 Things to Ask Your Child This Weekend:
1) What did you build during the Day of Play?
2) What are the roles and responsibilities of the members in a classroom community?
1 Thing To Remember:
1) Our new Reading Workshop unit is about being "Word Detectives" and students will get mysteries to solve as a class. It should be super fun and highly engaging and I encourage you to ask your first graders all about it as we get into the unit!
